Course Comments: Canyon Springs has won numerous awards from opening day, including being voted annually the best course in the region by consumer polls. We have hosted many tournaments and state championships such as the Idaho Amateur. In the early years, the course was well known for the challenge it presented to the skilled golfer. As the course matured and expanded to 18 holes, it became more playable for all golfers, although it still continues to challenge better golfers. The spectacular and rugged beauty of the Snake River Canyon has always attracted awed visitors since it was first discovered by early explorers. Golf came much later to this world-class and justifiably famous landscape. As Canyon Springs evolved, golfers began to appreciate how perfect the gently undulating, easily-walked, sand-based, terrain is for golf. Perhaps by a bit of luck, a fair amount of vision and effort, and some excellent land perfectly suited to the game, golf has grown and thrived in the Canyon. Oh my Lord, the scenery and turf conditions are so good, you won't even mind how you play. The 300 foot water fall off the mountain side is unbelievable.
